Have come up in spots and blotchy redness on my face. I feel ugly and upset. I don't know how I will cope with this.

Thankyou so much for replying never been on a forum before so was unsure if I had posted right. Do you have rosacea with the spots, they just seem so stubborn to go. Have you found it difficult. I tell myself there are lots of people worse off than me just deal with it. Hey-ho just hope the cream will kick in soon. Please stay in touch.

hello, my rosacea has progressed to spots and yes they are such a pain. What cream were you using or given by doctor?

hrllo so sorry, I missed your response. Metronidazole cream which is Rosex is usually the first one a dermatologist will try. From what I know they say you need to use it fir athleast 4 weeks to see if it will work. How is it now? Is it more the bumps or redness or both? There are other options if this does not help. Some have also used azelaic acid (Finacea), soolantra/rosiver (ivermectin), sulphur sulfacetemide wash, tea tree based washes or creams. As well, some derms will give antibiotics low dose to reduce inflammation (doxycycline 40mg day)

Rosacea is hard because what works for one person might not work for another.

I can tell you gentle face wash is crucial and a non-irritating moisturizer.

You can pM me with any questions, I am happy to help. I can also provide with some names of some other support groups if you would like.

I have been using it for 6 weeks now and am a lot worse than when I started, going to contact gp tomorrow. This is affecting every aspect of my life, I don't want to go out and do anything, only thing I will do comfortably is dog walk. Feeling depressed. It seems everyday I wake up there's another bump and redness and getting harder to cover it. I don't mean to sound so down, I hope I can get something to make it better.

Sending you lots of caring, I know this is hard, I get it. If you gave metronidazole a chance for 6 weeks it might not be for you. It sounds like you might have demodex mites with bumps..for that now they are using ivermectin topical called rosiver or soolantra. I know others who have had success with sulfur and/or tea based products. I am here to talk, I know how hard it is
