Some good news at last

We are currently waiting for a hospital bed to arrive for mum sometime today? They said between 9am & 5pm, we've hoovered & tided up mums bedroom, hopefully this new bed Will be agustable, they said it's lower than the current old bed & mattress we've just dismantled! Unfortunately πŸ˜” since mum has been bed bound for 8 weeks now, she's developed sores around her bum & back, thankfully we've had a couple of lovely helpful district nurses πŸ’™ come round to help mum.

We still don't understand why the chief Doctor at our surgery won't send a qualified doctor to give mum the steroid injections in both knees she so desperately needs?? We've complaind but we just get fobed off with the Covid19 excuse!! Doesn't make sense if you can have nurses attend to Mums needs But not a qualified doctor??

Hope everyone in the caring πŸ™ community ❀️ are coping with this horrible pandemic & keeping Sane πŸ˜‰

Love to all ❣️ from Andy, Mum & Cassie πŸ• Xx

Oh that's great MikeMan58. A welcome bit of news amid all this bad. Yes it does seem a little bit crackers that a doctor can't attend your mum but that nurses can. Sometimes I don't think that the whole picture's been taken into consideration when the rules were set down. But you have to expect that of government and medical experts. They probably haven't had to get up to someone in pain in the middle of the night, or if they did, they will have paid for some kind of solution to the problem. It's only those at the sharp end (those experiencing the pain and those who have to care for them), who truly understand.

I think the wind of change is going to come soon though, cautiously, so hopefully before too long, your mum will get the steroid injections she really needs. And I hope that the new bed will be of help to your mum and you as her carer. Take care and continue to stay safe!

Thanks 😘 honey, yes I agree with your sentiments, it's a very difficult time for carers and in the care industry, I do hope your right that changes will come for the better in the not too distant future? All we can do is sit tight and hope we get back πŸ™ to some form of normality, whatever that means, take care of each other.x
