I had a fall at the start of the year, which resulted in a CT scan. The CT scan highlighted something with my liver. I was told it was a benign cyst, but I would get an ultrasound to confirm.
I had the ultrasound, and the results were inconclusive. It was either a benign cyst or a benign adenoma, likely caused by the contraceptive pill. I am now waiting on a MRI, and have changed my contraceptive method meantime.
I've had bloods taken for absolutely everything. My results came back as normal. Everything was at the lower end of the 'normal' range. However, my Gamma GT is at the top end of 'normal'. I have been questioned about my alcohol usage too.
I consume no more than 14 units of alcohol a week (usually considerably less).
I eat a balanced diet mainly low fat slimming world/pinch of nom meals. As I am trying to lose some weight. I do however binge a bit in the winter, at the weekend on crisps. I am sitting just below obese on the BMI chart.
I am perimenopausal, with some menopause symptoms.
I was on pain meds following my fall, but taking the prescribed ibuprofen was giving me severe heartburn so I stopped taking them about 2 weeks before the blood test. I've not had any other medication since. Could that be the cause of my higher Gamma GT reading? (I forgot to ask the GP)
I just don't know what's going on and am a bit worried, although my GP is not (I've yet to see a specialist but my GP is in contact with them). She admitted I'm a bit of a puzzle.
Sorry, just needed to put this down somewhere. I can't discuss to much with my husband, he has autism and I can't risk him fixating on things for his own mental health. Also it's difficult to talk at home. 15-year-old boys can't hear you telling them to do their homework or tidy their room, but they can hear you talking about things like this!
