I understand diagnoseis have to go through specialist but I feel my husband is being kept in the dark about his deterioration. He has alcohol related brain and liver damage. No idea what stage because his appointment with the specialist has been cancelled 3 times since last November.
I am trying to support him and understand his condition.
He was admitted to hospital in January following blood tests , with sodium at 125 and high potassium, indication of inflammation and infection. He has 4 spinal fractures due to Vit D being very low. They told us his liver and kidneys are struggling. He had sodium IV then discharged.
He has just had more blood tests which say :
Sodium 132,
Potassium 4.9
Urea 1.2
Creatinine 50
Acute disease
Does this indicate acute kidney disease?
He has most of the symptoms of this, nausea, tiredness, weakness, cramps, dark orange urine, frequent needs to use the toilet but little urine when he goes.
He continued to drink between 15-20 bottles of Budweiser each day.

I have a similar situation with my husband..He is in the bed and won’t take a shower and is turning yellow and I am so worried watching him deteriorating! He has memory loss plus weakness and this worries me until I’m so weak
Hi, I think this sounds like at least a 111 job. I can’t believe he hasn’t seen a hepatologist yet. I think it’s time to start making a fuss. He needs to know what stage he’s at and the appropriate care to be put in place. You can’t just carry on taking care of him on your own.
I think at this point you can’t afford to wait. If he has tummy issues, went clammy and you managed to get him into bed, plus the pain you need to be getting a doctor to look at him. He may need to be admitted to hospital again.
Don't think of beer as just beer in his case. Just consider it fluid. And fluid has to come out or it turns to poison in the blood and will make him unconscious soon. He will just go to sleep and never wake up. When I saw what your seeing personally I watched my friend try and urinate. One drop fell off his penis, that's all that came out and the next day my friend passed. I feel your broken heart. Your in my prayers
