Forgot to take prograf
Hi Shaun
It wont be an issue. Its not something to make a habit of, but missing 1 dose here and there wont cause a problem. Dont forget if you have a late clinic you may not take them till around 5 o clock sometimes anyway.
The general guidance if you miss a dose is to take it as soon as you realise. If that is close to when you'd normally take your second dose then skip that and just go back to your normal dosing times the day after.
Thanks for your reply i feel a bit better now knowing that hope you are keeping well haven't seen any write ups from you for a long time 😊
All is good here. I tend to reserve my responses to subjects I have a bit of experience of, so it just depends what questions are posted really. Sometimes it means I can be quite quiet, but I am still there, lurking in the background, wohahahaha! (That was supposed to be an evil laugh, lol) 😆😆😆
Hi Kristin I no you've had a liver transplant like me i was wondering if you could help me with some advice my alp has come back high, 162,and i won't be in touch with my consultant until the end of the month I'm really worried has this happened to you
A quick google search reveals that isolated rises of ALP are very common in post transplant patients and nothing to be massively concerned about if other bloods remain good. It can be due to some minor damage during transplant surgery and more common if the donor liver was from a female. "After surgery, liver transplant recipients visiting outpatient clinics are frequently observed to have isolated increase in serum Alp (IISAlp), without other abnormal laboratory test results."
Your consultant should be keeping an eye on and acting on anything too irregular.

Hi again,
I know its easier said than done, but, try not to stress too much about it if you can. There will always be fluctuations in your tests and your consultant will be keeping an eye on it even if you aren't due to see them.
ALP has quite a high reference range anyway, so it may only be slightly out of kilter. I think you'll be fine to just wait till you have your next consultation as its only a couple if weeks away now. If your consultant thinks it necessary they may ask for some new blood tests in the interim but most likely they won't given the proximity to your next appointment.
Do ask the question about it when you see them. I'm sure they'll be happy to look into it further or even explain what levels may make them concerned.
Good luck.
Thanks for your reply it's such a worry especially when all test's over last 5yrs have been OK will have to wait and see what he says Thanks for replying hope you are doing well as you had your transplant about the same time as me and i think at the QE take care
Yes thats right. So far all is good liver wise. Off to the World Transplant Games in Perth Australia in a few weeks. Would be nice if my back and knees were doing as well as my liver, lol. 😆😆
Oh that's wonderful news i presume you're not taking part!!! How long are you going to be there? Sorry to hear about your back and knees perhaps the sun will do them good 👍 take care and enjoy Australia send some photos if you can
