I have been in hospital now more than a month and was transferred to Leeds St James, last Friday. It has been a very emotional day, first time it's happened but I was informed by a doctor early morning that a liver was available but my blood's needed checking first, as reason I was transferred was because my sodium levels were low and potassium was high. Anyway every emotion possible I went through until I was told this afternoon liver was given to someone who was basically on deaths door, but looks like now I am in Leeds until I have the transplant. What a waiting game it is but has took me long enough to get her, and my body had to take a huge nose dive to get here!!!!

xHopefully you can get some kip, threaten to sing God Save The Queen loudly and out of tune on a loop unless they help you sleep. Actually, I did try that one night after 3 nights of not sleeping, all it got me was frog marched by head nurse to her station and told to behave or else! X X x

Don,t know about you but I haven't had a winks sleep in 4 days ! they don,t want me to take anything for it, so a new plan maybe required. Sleep deprivation is illegal under the Geneva convention, and considered to be torture under international law. So, will see how the liver nurse likes that one then !. (she loves me ). Hope you got some rest darling. Fingers crossed, we shall see what today brings. Yours anne x x x

Hi there. Good luck and I hope you get a liver soon. I went in Leeds and they also kept me in till a liver came in as the 1st wadnt good enough, the 2nd I wasn't good enough and, yes, 3rd time lucky one came along. They didn't give up on me and I am still here now 3 years on. Stay strong and stay positive and have trust in the Drs they will get you sorted. Thinking of you xxxx

how did you get sick, you do not have to answer you can always message me. I feel for your situation. It is incredibly sad that one has to wait until they are sick enough based on MELD score. I will follow your progress. I had hep-c and continued to drink as I had a very stressful job. I cleared before it did total damage. I am now in recovery mode from drink took a retirement option moved to the country side and am doing well with the support of my family and AA. You sound like a fighter, have heart JoJo.

I really hope today has been a better day for you. I had a false call on Easter Sunday. Got to Leeds from Bolton and just as we pulled up i got the call to say turn back and go home. The liver was no good. I was devastated then i got my new liver 20th April this year. I don't think you will be waiting long. It's difficult I know but at least you know it's your turn soon. Keep watching this post for updates. Some great people on that ward. Xx

Hi Jo jo -followed your progress on the st James Facebook group and know how poorly you have been for a long time. This seems to be it now -you will soon be receiving a new liver and will be a post tranplant group member soon and giving advice to all us pre-tranplant people. Coming up to Leeds this morning as my husband is signing hopefully on the dotted line to join the list. You seema very positive person and are nearly at the finishing line 😀

Thanks so much Katherine it has been a long road but I knew I would get here eventually. I have to be positive as I think there is always someone worse off than you, I make the most of the good days and also make written plans for what I want to do when I get better. I hope your husband receives the news he is after today I will keep my fingers crossed x

Hi jojo,

I don't know how mobile you are in hospital at moment but when your visitors arrive, ask nurses if you can put on a jumper and plot up outside with a coffee or juice and get yourself some natural daylight and fresh air. It's sunny in Suffolk today. The fresh air might help clear your head from the artificial ward lighting and lack of fresh air - just a thought.

In on waiting list but fortunate enough to be at home so I really feel for you honey especially with lack of sleep too and the waiting.......

Like everyone on here, we are ALL thinking of you, and keeping everything crossed that your new liver isn't too long a wait.

Stay strong my lovely and keep us updated when you can. We are all here to listen to you rant, moan, air your frustrations and most importantly, to support you.

💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 Positive thoughts hun 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

after my transplant my visitors were allowed to take me off the ward for an hour. It was fantastic. I was sick of seeing 4 walls. I loved just looking in the shops. Hopefully ur keeping well xx
