Hi everyone. I have been diagnosted with chronic liver condition probably NAFLD/Autoimmune Liver Disease as my blood test suggest so.
I got appointment with specialist about my liver biopsy results and it says :The features are of a steatohepatitis with severe fibrosis. The morphology in these cores is not typical of cirrhosis as there is an absence of obvious regenerative nodules. Nevertheless, the extent of fibrosis is very severe, with mainly a pericellular and perivenular distribution.
I am very concerned as doctos said that I dont need liver transplant now as my biopsy says no cirrhosis but for the other hand my Fibroscan gave result 72kPa and F4. I have mild ascities and jaudice(little) and very itchy skin. My liver enzymes backed to normal and I was adviced to be on healthy diet.
Is any option as severe fibrosis is not so dangerous (even with complications) to be put for liver transplant? I am bery concered as I'm only 28yo and I want to have a normal, long life.
Hi, firstly calm down and try not to worry. NAFLD can be reversed/controlled by diet a exercise changes, please look at the British liver trust website for information and advice. It sounds as if it has been diagnosed before cirrhosis stage.Good luck
Thanks for replying.I was just confused as level of damage os very big but my CT scan and biopsy said no cirrhosis and Fibroscan said advanced cirrhosis.
I am just on beginning on my way to try to live with sympthoms I have but as I can see other posts mostly everyone have them and its a part of disease.
I think biopsy is a golden standard for staging fibrosis. The fibroscan can be overstimated by inflammation. If autoimmune disease is involved, it can be treated. Good luck and follow your doctors.
