I decided to go to a and e on Monday evening. I recently had bloods done but dr surgery would not let me have results until I spoke to dr. They gave me a 19 day wait. Or I could keep calling at 8am to get an emergency appointment.
I work in a school and find this very difficult and increases my stress levels no end. Having been told I have mild/slightly enlarged fatty liver previously I have made life style changes no alcohol and a 2 stone weight loss.
Unfortunately I still have right side flank pain that moved to back too. The hospital was mad busy with patients at the end of their tethers mainly due to not being seen by GPs.
I had a urine and bloods done. After waiting which I did not mind I was told bloods were fine but urine showed infection and I was asked to return for an US the following day.
I arrived to have a CT scan. They said that there was nothing at all wrong with my bladder, kidneys, liver. I had previously been told that left kidney was enlarged. I asked several times with regards to my liver and they kept looking at notes saying no everything was fine.
My white blood cells were 3 so slightly raised but hey can not see an infection or inflammation.
I have an US in 3 weeks s scheduled one but dr at a abs e said that a ct scan is superior to US and now no need. He said US can be interpreted in many ways. A ct scan is looked at by 3 people and is an exact photo of your inside.
So I assume that the liver is not enlarged or fatty.? They are unsure why urine white cells are higher but not coming from urine tract.
But yet I have the pain in my right side flank and my own GP wants to talk about bloods, he said my bloods were only slightly raised on Tuesday morning but on Monday night a and said bloods were fine. So are they or aren’t they? When I do get to see my gp I just don’t know what to think or say.
Family say go with CT scan and if drs at A and E say you can go home bloods must be fine.
What would you guys say. I don’t know if it’s hypochondria set in to my head now. At 55 and having an under active thyroid (that is being controlled) should I expect bloods to be text book.
