I had pain over my Liver for many many years when I was a drinker... haven’t had it since I stopped... Not once. Luckily for me my scan showed not even fatty liver so seems I escaped damage but ask yourself is all the worry worth the drink? I used to wake up each day and the first thing I would do is look in the mirror and see if my eyes were still white!! Madness looking back.
I cannot believe you have just saod that about your eyes i do the same thing did it today asked people around if my eyes were white also and i am a heavy drinker but all my blood counts were okay and sort of confused. X
My bloods were often ok when I used to drink. But one day my ALT was raised. This was about 12 years ago and I literally went cold because I knew that I was drinking every single night so I knew why it was raised. I stopped drinking and even ended the relationship I was in as they too were a drinker. Then I started again about a year later and carried on from there. When I woke up my liver would feel sore and it would hurt to press, it was obviously inflamed. Trust me life without drinking is so much better! I don’t need to check my eyes anymore for a start. Try coming off and you will likely see that pain disappear.. x
Sounds better than what im living now tbh glad you are off the drink and happy 😊
Oh back then my cholesterol was something like 7 which for my age at the time was really bad. When I stopped for that year it came down to 4... My liver wasn’t working like it should have been raising my cholesterol. That’s wasn’t pleasant either as high cholesterol really isn’t good! X
Hi Cashie. My husband had cirrhosis his skin and eyes didn't turn yellow until he was detoxed. You don't have to look for it ... it is blatantly obvious
Depends why you have attended A&E.
Usual blood tests that get rattled of on all the TV medical programmes are :- LFT's (Liver Function Tests), FBC's (full blood count), U's & E's (Urea & Electrolytes which are Kidney Function tests).
Upper right quadrant pain x
They'll have run a full blood screen then.
Did they give you a scan?
