The Strengths and Keys of my Recovery

Hey Troops, Potty Mouth is back as several of you have messaged me to ask about what I have done to support such a great response to health so here it is.

I began August 9, 2018 with decompensated stage 4 cirrhosis. I had ascites, HE, jaundice, crazy itching and liver values off the chart. I also had critically low vitamin D. I began with Spiro and Lasix/Furosemide. After 8 months I gradually began to wean off of them. First Lasix then Spiro.

I was also told to lose weight. I lost 96lbs.

I had to keep my sodium intake under 1500mg/day. I did/do.

No red meat. Don't even miss it. I also have no more than 2oz of any protein at a sitting. I eat 0% fat Greek yoghurt and unsalted peanut butter. I eat loads of fruit and veg. heavy on the veg for sure.

So, breakfast is steel cut oats with 1/2 a banana. and coffee.

Mid morning snack might be an apple and a small pot of plain yoghurt and a few nuts.

Lunch will be say a chicken sandwich and a salad or a huge vat of salad and a little protein in it.

afternoon snack could be a cup of soup that I have homemade.

dinner is usually fish or a mixed bean salad with basil and a chicken.

No sugar period.

I also won't eat a sauce that has alcohol in it.

Oh, and zero booze and I do mean none.

Not too much to do really. Clean living

Good luck Friends,

Liz

Canadaliz THANK YOU for sharing your diet details. i’d reached that place where I couldn’t think of what I should be doing even though I have known in the past. It’s so easy to get lost in a world of worry about stuff that I lose track sometimes of the path I was on. You may not know how helpful you have been to me today. But again, thank you! In a minute I’ll be out of bed and flicking a fistful of organic oats in the pan and flooding them with water . I hope I haven’t put anyone on edge saying three words beginning with eff. It I’m going to save this post in case it disappears! 😂 so easy to say what is the best diet, so easy to stray from it - you must be ecstatic that you have achieved so much. Keep at it and keep us updated please! Oh, and please don’t call yourself potty mouth EVER again - I can’t abide it 😂😆😅😂🤣
