Sorry been a while but I’m back 
I’ve decided to take the plunge and book a cruise as my platelets are still too low to fly and Dr isn’t happy about it but was happy for me to sail but I forgot to ask about travel sickness tablets. I don’t usually get sea sick but you never know. Are standard over the counter tablets safe for liver or will I need my Hep Nurse to give the ok first ?

Limited pharmacokinetic data are available for the older, first-generation antihistamines. Many appear to be primarily metabolized by the liver, and both parent drugs and metabolites are excreted in the urine. Patients with renal and/or liver disease may be at greater risk for adverse effects from antihistamines due to drug and metabolite accumulation. Therapy with antihistamines should be administered cautiously in such patients. Lower initial dosages may be appropriate.
Strangely ok for cancer?
Liver problems
You could have liver problems if your cancer started in your liver, or more commonly, has spread into the liver. Feeling sick can be caused by your liver not working as well as it should. Anti sickness medicines are the best way to try to control this.

Glad to hear you’ve booked a cruise. That’s what we did to this year. First successful hol for 5 years 👍.
My thoughts are, unless you are going on a very old or very small boat, or you’re going round the Horn, you won’t need travel sickness tablets. An awful lot of the time you don’t even know you’re at sea tbh. If you’re really worried book a cabin midships 👍.

Hi, I am post tp and wanted to go sea fishing and was worried in case I got sea sick as on previous times had.Asked pharmacist, they said can’t take sea sick meds would react with other meds. Wore arm bands for sea sick and all was fine. Others were sick who didn’t normally get sick as that day was so extra rough so not a good catch also.

always do but looking for recommendations to ask my liver team about. But so far looks like it’s a no go area 
I wear the wrist bands but I also take a tablet named Dompy, the ingredient is Domperidone.
Now obviously you need to check with your doctor. My doctor said it was Ok for Me to take as it is a small dose and I’m not taking it everyday and he knows my bloods. Basically it is an anti sickness tablet.
It is worth an ask, I am not sure where you are but some countries it can be bought over the counter, I think the Uk is prescription only.
