hi

my wife had a fibroscan about a month ago and there was some evidence of scarring but she hasn’t had her follow up appointment with the specialist yet so no official diagnosis as yet. We are due to go on holiday next Wednesday (flying) and are not sure what to do ?cancel or go ?.

Is this scenario anyone else has experience of ?.

Thanks.

I would ring up an health insurer and ask. We used staysure. They will know what cover you should get with any liver issues. I would also seek advice from your consultant if you can. The liver nurses on the website are amazing too if you need a chat.

yes going to speak to travel insurers. Trying to speak to consultant is slightly more problematic!. I’ve spoken to one of the nurses and she was a lovely person, very helpful and informative.

Thanks for the reply

Good luck and I hope you get to have a good break.

I would ask for an emergency phone visit and send the doctor a message since you are leaving for a trip and see if it is safe to travel and if any restrictions with diet or medicine.
