Back in hospital

So annoyed to back in hospital after an out of the blue bleed belong sick. Endoscope resulted in 5 bands being fitted. It was horrific.

Never felt worse but guess I’m in the right place

Pretty rough but blood count looks ok so no transfusion. Chest feels like it's on fire though.

I hope I get out today.

So so sorry to hear this, its awful isn't it. The burning is probably the bands, it's like having the worst indigestion which you can't get rid off. I had a terrible reaction to an IV drug used to stop the bleeding Terlipresin (sp??). I hope you have a short stay with no further horrid treatment.

I'm getting that drug and it's horrific. Makes me feel like I'm on fire. They are halving the dose. Thanks!

I had a rash all over, so my body was hot but all the colour went from my face. I had the worst banging throbbing headache. I hope them reducing the dose helps. Are you having IV antibiotics too, my stomach didn't appreciate them either. In fact I felt worse while in hospital, than before I went!!!

I've just had it again at a reduced dose and although less so it still makes me feel terrible. I'm getting vit k too.

Like everyone said you are in the right place. Not nice the endoscopy I know. But well done you came through and will I hope be on the mend again soon.

Not at all. Wasn't taken as such. Still in the hospital but all observations are good. I'll see if I can get out today.

Hi, sorry to hear of your bad time. I have had many gastroscopies, but my varices didn't need banding fortunately, but the instrument down the throat is bad enough. Hope you get home tomorrow,

The banding for me was ok, I think once past the upper gi all the pain is over? Before that.. the endoscopy itself is crappy. I literally lay on my side and wept like I had been abused.. I had nothing left. The rest was just a dream with no pain. So sorry you felt this also. The next tie I had a ga. no issues just a long nap. Ask for that!!!
