Hi all!

. According to dutch doctors i may not take paracetamol because of PBC.

Which medicines is best to take for people with pbc if they have a flu? Is aspirin ok for us? Ibuprofen as a pain killer?

Thank you .

No, probably not, but ring your own doctor's office to be sure. Honey and lemon tea will be a help, they may be able to offer you something else, high fever should be treated and eat and drink plenty of fluids as dehydration poses serious risks as well. Hope you feel better soon! X

I have PBC, in the UK I’am told paracetamol is okay for a few days but to stay within the dosage guidelines. But not to take ibuprofen. It does make you wonder what is best if you have a fever perhaps you doctor could give you something to help lower it. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi,

Unfortunately no one on the forum is medically qualified to advise you regarding medications. We would suggest that you discuss this with your own doctors who have full access to your medical notes and are best placed to safely advise you.

Kind regards
