I have PBC and would like to hear from others with the same. My question is: is it safe to take about 1tsp of apple cider vinigar per day for other problems? I know one must not take alcholol and this is close..yes?

Hi

I also have PBC and use wine/cider vinegar in salad dressings. I don't think it's a problem.

Bev

I'm pretty sure it's not alcoholic

Hi I have pbc It's nothing to do with alcohol it's an autoimmune disease I was told you can drink in moderation so I'm sure what you're having is fine it's a slow progressive disease so whether you drink or not it will still happen hope that helps 😊

..cant see it being detrimental in any way .. and i think that if you truly "feel" intuitively that something will work for you that you should do/take it whatever "others" may say as tis your body and more importantly your mind which you are working with 👍🙄😉🤗😁😇

I would tend to suggest not having alcohol if you have a liver problem just because alcohol is treated in the same way a poison is by the liver ie natures way of dealing with alcohol is pretty robust! This supports the fact that alcohol can cause damage to many functions and organs in the body.

Having said all that, I do not believe there is any alcohol in cider vinegar or wine vinegars so I think it's safe - if you're worried ask you GP.

Thanks for your reply..I haven't had an alcohol drink for 15 years. I will ask my GP about apple cider vinegar and let everyone know what he says.

Hi,

If you are considering taking any additional supplements such as apple cider vinegar, it may be a good idea to discuss this with your own doctors in the first instance,

Best wishes,

Rebecca
