Nodular fibrosis?

Veeru1093 profile image

I have previously shared my liver woes and having issues after I got b12 injections.

on my search I have come across studies which indicated that injections from glass particles can cause contamination and allow glass particles in to the blood stream which has damaging effects for example:

Nodular liver fibrosis!!!

this is the only plausible cause of all my symptoms and the fact my symptoms haven’t alleviated

If anything I have more

Teeth breaking

Floating stools

Hemmorhoids

And chicken skin on thighs whereas prior always had smooth skin,

Alongside everything I’ve described previously, not sure how to even go about this.. if this is the cause

Have you had a fibroscan or ultrasound that suggested nodular fibrosis? An ultrasound could show nodules and a fibroscan can determine fibrosis.

No fibroscan but ultrasound was clear

However private testing showed

Increased blood fat, high alp, billirubin and bile acids

Also my symptoms Are

Dark urine

Floating stools

Rectal bleeding

Hemmorhoids

Burping & flatulence

Delayed gastric emptying

Hairloss

Teeth breaking

Just to name a few

Sounds like something is going on. What does gp think or plan?

No plans or anything, that’s why I’m left to searching online to see if there is anything I can figure out. Quite disheartening.

My personal plan is to wait till October when I go abroad and get all the testing done as it’s much more affordable. Mentally challenging to live with the symptoms till then and worry of them worsening. But hopefully will be okay

If by nodular fibrosis you mean Nodular Regenerative Hyperplasia (NRH), its nodules can only be seen on histology after a liver biopsy. FibroScan and ultrasound cannot detect NRH. Occasionally, indirect signs may be observed on MRI, but the sensitivity of the method is low.

Ultrasound does not allow visualization of NRH nodules, but it can help in detecting signs of non-cirrhotic portal hypertension (NCPH), which is often associated with NRH. For this, Doppler of the portal system with blood flow velocity measurements is crucial, as it provides more information than just ultrasound.

I’m not sure the articles all said that glass particles can cause Nodular liver fibrosis, I can’t find any on treating this or ensuring removal glass if that is the case also not sure if it means NRH

Although NRH could be possible as US was clear and I do have mildly elevated alp which is a characteristic I’m not sure gp will take further action

Given my symptoms I’m really suffering and not sure what to do

I have read your past messages. It seems to me that B12 deficiency in your case was misinterpreted and not confirmed by the necessary tests, as far as I remember. Most likely one thing was mistaken for another thing.

Also, have you had your vitamin A and D levels checked? Vitamin A deficiency may be associated with keratoses (chicken skin), and vitamin D deficiency may be associated with brittle teeth. Deficiency of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K) often occurs with liver disease or disorders of bile secretion.

It is worth considering that hemorrhoids in some cases may be associated with portal hypertension, which is important to consider for further examination.

Yes I agree, there was no reason for me to get the injections,

But nonetheless they happened and have possible lead to this whole issue

No sense of direction now

I meant that your symptoms appeared before the injections. I think the injections have nothing to do with your symptoms.

No the symptoms didn’t appear before injections,

I had the injections January symptoms and tests results showed from Feb onwards,

All liver related symptoms anyway

Yes neurological symptoms began earlier when I was stressed hence they thought b12 when the stress subsided my symptoms went away and I knew it was just stress not something else

I stupidly decided to get b12 injections in Jan as they can help fatigue which in turn led me down this road - from a salon setting not medical which was my wrong doing

Read your edited message and yes I agree

They did to colonoscopy previously in Nov and no cause was found for bleeding, but this is the first time I’ve developed a Hemmorhoids so not sure if liver disease is the cause or has advanced?

And yes my vit d is low and vit A could be due to chicken skin which would all point to liver disease

But they ruled most obvious causes and have clear ultrasound so they won’t refer to hepatology
