I’ve been worried about the results but never got anything from the GP and there was nothing about the scan on my NHS app as if I never even had it.
So I plucked up courage and finally asked the doctor to check on the results today he said it was only mild scarring and it said nothing to worry about didn’t tell me any numbers or letters that everybody else seems to know about.
Should I be worried?

Hi, I completely understand why you’d feel worried — it’s really hard when you don’t get clear information. If your doctor mentioned 'mild scarring', that likely means they saw signs of early fibrosis (maybe something like F1 or F2 on the fibrosis scale), which in NAFLD is common and not immediately dangerous, but definitely worth keeping an eye on over time. It’s absolutely okay and very helpful to ask your GP for the exact Fibroscan result (the kPa number). Knowing the number can help you understand where you are and track any changes in the future. Even mild fibrosis can progress if no steps are taken, so it’s a good idea to make sure you’re getting advice on diet, exercise, weight management, and regular follow-up. But please try not to panic. Mild scarring is often manageable and can stay stable or even improve with the right care. You’ve done exactly the right thing by asking questions.
