Hi
I had a liver biopsy but my consultant had already confirmed and started me on meds, that was nearly 8 years ago .

Thankyou
Is it the biopsy they do for staging then?

I think so but couldn’t say for definite.
Hi,
Here is the link to our PBC publication which does detail diagnosis and some of the diagnostic tools used:
Hello 👋 I was diagnosed by lots of bloods being done. The fibroscan told me the condition of my liver. I was diagnosed 2 years ago.
I had lots of blood tests and an ultrasound to check it wasn’t anything else. A few months after diagnosis I had a fibroscan. I don’t really know what stage I’m at, my fibroscan score was a bit higher than consultant had hoped for but I’ve never been told anything about staging.
