Well having been awake all night fretting about my face to face assessment this morning, I've had a phone call from atos cancelling it!!!!! Apparently the assessoris off sick. I'm absolutely furious

That happened to me Deb, only at their office. I got a letter in advance. The wording made it sound like I had cancelled and there had one more chance to reschedule, bonkers!!!
Note the time of the call and exactly what they said to you. As if it isn’t stressful enough.
Mark.
That's disgusting!! When you get your next appointment through, make sure as Mark said that the wording on the letter is correct!! I think they sometimes cancel to see if you want another appointment or not!!! Oh it's been just terrible. We get very anxious when we have interviews for this knowing how awkward they can be. Please let us know when your next one is, it should be asap. Please take care. Lots of love Lynne xxxx
I've got an appointment for the 15th of march now. I have no confidence that it'll actually happen
Tell them when they actually arrive about stress and anxiety, it is a question. They are the cause!
Hi
What a good idea. They are certainly the cause!!! They get everyone stressed out!!! Please take care Lynne
I i v
Deb, this is totally unacceptable! I had it on my calendar to check in with you today about how the appointment went. You would think they would be organized enough to have substitutes for when employees are ill. Please do let us know when they re-schedule you and we will cheer you on through it! And maybe a nap today? Or should I say early to bed? Take good care.
Yes, I think they hope people will give up but you mustn't give up, keep on going, I know it's hard but you are entitled to this. Love and hugs Lynne xxxx
I just had my assessment appointment. When I went at the allotted time I was told I couldn’t see the assessor as someone was just going in and there was another appointment before me. I was informed I should have told them I needed an accessible room as well - checked very small print at the back of the letter!! After about an hr I was informed I had to go home and be seen the next day fortunately. It was very stressful- I cried which I don’t do easily but the lead up to the assessment meant many sleepless nights. I returned the next day only to be told the person being seen the day before was actually in there 4 hours!!
I feel I am a genuine case I has a stroke immediately after my liver transplant so I have many additional problems. I’m left now awaiting the outcome . By the way when I was actually seen I was only in there 20 minutes!!
There has to be a better way than the current system
I just wrote a really long reply but then lost it grrr. I'm sorry you got such shoddy treatment. I think they just want us to give in and cancel the application. I don't know why I've been given a home visit as I didn't request one. I saw part of a program on channel 5 last night about benefit cheats. These people have never worked but know how to get every benefit there is. One woman said she was at the doctor's and opened a bottle of water in her coat pocket and poured it down her legs and got esa and pip. Her partner said he tells them he has anxiety and can't go out so her gets esa and pip. Plus they get housing benefit and anything else they're "entitled to" they also shop lift and sell on to make even more money.
