Liver Issue?
Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly and haven't been given any information about your liver issue. How did doctor establish that you had a 'liver issue'? What tests have you had already?
None of us are medics and arn't allowed to offer clinical advice as we don't know you or your previous medical history so can't offer clues as to diagnosis.
You really need to ask information when you see doctors and if you are having struggles with the med speak make sure someone goes with you to appointments as it can be really quite confusing.
If you haven't eaten for two weeks or got pain that is causing issues you really need some follow up. Has doctor said he would refer you on for more tests or to a gastroenterologist or hepatologist to deal with your liver issue. You can't just be left in the dark with no guidance.
Katie
hey katie ... blood work was all they did .. im waiting for an o k from the GI specialist as my referal has been sent in ... im going to the hospital tonight im tired of being sick and getting sick its frustrating
Glad you have been referred to a gastro specialist, they should be able to get to the bottom of whats going on with more tests. The long wait is no good if you are poorly and not eating so hopefully you get some joy from hospital tonight.
Best wishes, Katie
Just to let you know not all the liver issues end in death or a life where you're sick all the time. After you find out what exactly you're dealing with you can start changing your lifestyle. So that means no drinking start eating right, exercise but the most important part is doing exactly what your doctor tells you to do take your meds on time every day. how do I know this because four years ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 liver disease and right now I'm sitting in a hotel room going back to the doctors again tomorrow but if today is any indication what tomorrow's going to be like it's going to be a great day. It's extremely tough sometimes you just think you want to give up but you can't. Find out what your problem is and then start working hard towards the goal of getting better
Hello Allie, I too am sorry to hear about your condition and agree with Katie as more information is needed. Are you being admitted into hospital or is it an out-patience. Have they said as to why they need to see you?
Hope things turn out ok.
