Hi I'm a newbie looking for support and any info and to offer support. My consultant says my condition suggests Primary Biliary Cholangitis, just one enzyme not positive so I'm having a liver scan and biopsy. Got effects like itchy skin and wake up most mornings feeling like I've had a night in the tiles! Worried about lies ahead. Have to wait a while for these tests as the hospital is so busy so no medication yet.

Welcome Liza, you may or may not have already seen that the British Liver Trust has some excellent publications regarding different liver diseases, test etc. The main website is at:- britishlivertrust.org.uk/ & there is a specific page for Primary Biliary Cholangitis at:- britishlivertrust.org.uk/li... .

No doubt someone with PBC will be along to assist you with any specific questions you have going forwards.

All the best,

Katie

Thank you both for your kind words. It's good to chat and read others Experiences, I'm talking to relatives but obviously no one quite understands as I don't yet but I'm sure I will learn things and hopefully be able to support others too

Hi, I have had PBC and went through a transplant. Firstly try to keep your stress levels down, easy to say but hard to do, but it does help as lot. Take problems as they happen don't look for them. PBC affects folk in different ways. Sure there will be a few life changes but I found that there was nothing major.. There is a wealth of good people on here with loads of experience so just ask . As for the scratching you have my sympathy. Take care.
