Hi I have no idea, I would have thought he would have given you some indication when he gave you the results, did he say he would repeat the test

Hi Kellys66

I would say that a white blood cell count of 7.5 would be fine I'm no expert but I think a normal range is between 4.3-10.8

Hi Kelly. What was your doctor looking for and had your white count been out of normal range before. Docs don't normally tell you about normal results unless they are expecting abnormal ones, lol!

Kidney or urine infection? UTIs are usually treated with a course of appropriate antibiotics with the patient at home. Kidney infection is a different situation as it means the bacteria from your bladder (UTI area) has travelled up into your kidneys. Is it the docs who say the diuretic is not dealing with fluid retention, or do you feel that yourself. Is it ascites in your abdomen they are trying to remove with the Spironolactone, as oedema in other parts of the body is usually treated with a different diuretic such as Furosemide. Did the docs get to the bottom of what has damaged your liver so badly? Do you have a history or UTI's or kidney infections - some people who have used Nitrofurantoin (an antibiotic used to treat urinary tract infections) over many years find it damages their liver.

Hi. Yeah it's ascites from alc . Got drained back in February , fluid in the abdomen and legs and it is back pretty much the same. When I was released from hospital there was a mix up with the doctor who made a mistake and didn't re prescribe the medication that worked the first time, started 100 spiralactone. Now 150 still not working

Unfortunately once your liver damage reaches the point of ascites the fluid build up will keep coming back. Its back to the docs for you I'm afraid to either change your diuretic dosage or discuss having a drain again.

Hi boll, I know it's a pain, I thought I would be back in work by now, long time off ' I think I might just go back any way not much good on benefits. I have to see the hepathology team on the 14 ,I'll wait for then about the guided tap opinion even though the doctor recons it's not bad enough yet, I wonder how bad it has to be
