I went through a similar scenario last June. Husband spent 8 days in hospital with severe case of encephalopathy, never heard him swear so much! He has had two mild episodes since but I have learnt to recognise the signs. His lactulose was increased and he also takes Rifaxamin to stop him going la la as we say. Best wishes.
