Well, a million tests later...

Hi all,

Since my last post I have had a ton of other tests. I'm going on my symptoms, a lot of which led me to believe I had HE, however I had two ammonia tests at the height of my symptoms and an 'attack' and it was really low (odd because I'm a smoker and they told me that would elevate levels) plus contrast CT scan which did not find anything liver-related. I have so far had 3 ultrasounds, 2 fibroscans, a CT and an MRI - no cirrhosis or any liver abnormalities. So if it is/was cirrhosis, it's the most elusive case ever - and my doctor assures me that if I had HE, my liver would have to be extremely far gone and would show up in imaging 100%.

However, the latest CT scan found 2 masses in my right kidney and a larger mass in my left kidney. I have a biopsy next week to see what they are. How ironic... I spent so much time worrying about my liver, and by accident they find issues elsewhere in my body.

Also, I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic. Sigh. Just wish I could find out what was wrong with me, already :/ Praying it isn't the Big C in the kidneys.

Sorry, just needed to rant...
