so I did the run, it seemed quite hard but I ended up with 31:41 time according to my watch. Not quite what I expected but I had a little bit of strength left at the end to hold off those behind me. It was the first outing for my new cheap smart watch, and the good news is that it syncs with my Strava app so it means my Irish running buddy’s can keep tabs on what I am doing. I will do another plod along a 6 mile route this week and get in some speed and strength work. Enjoy The weekend everyone.

wow, well done 1Mistral !!! That’s a brilliant time for a parkrun…& hats off to you because I flipping HATE parkrun!!! So anyone who is a ‘park runner’ has my admiration, even if it took you 2 hours I would still be in awe!! Massive pat on the back to you from me & I’m glad your watch helps 😊
Lol about Park Runs. I always used to prefer running with a few mates off piste and get muddy. I lived in County Wicklow in Ireland and we would run the mountains and hills. We called ourselves MSR. Mud Sweat and Runners. The group is still going and I keep in touch via Strava checking what the others are doing. Here in north Norfolk there are loads of footpaths so I can jog along for miles and not see anyone. I’m originally from Darlington and was board in Stockton on Tees, Yorkshire as it was then.
Huh, I’m in Yorkshire…there are LOADS of beautiful places to run…I am a canal runner, I love it down there..my favourite runs though have always been in the Dordogne when we’ve been on family holidays.
I loved running in North Norfolk. We were staying in Trunch, near North Walsham for a fortnight in summer 2022, and one morning I ran from there all the way to the big church in Cromer and back!
Great stuff. I am still getting used people talking about hills here in Norfolk. Very funny, I say this isn’t a hill it’s a slight incline. By the way I’m not saying I can run ‘inclines’ like I used to.

Well done! Sounds like you had a super run! Have you seen there’s a weekly patkrun thread? You might like to share there as well and read about how others have got on with their parkruns too…

You’ll be given a very warm welcome and lots of cheers!!

Well done 1Mistral! Good pace, and we are still running in the freezing cold!
I was out for a 5k Fartlek in the forest this morning, starting at 10:11am….too late for Park Runs! So you must have been born in part of Stockton which lies south of the Tees. I was born in Middlesbrough and still live in North Yorkshire on the edge of the North Yorks moors, just 5 minutes walk from my favourite trails.

Terrifically done!!

Well done! I was brought up in Norfolk and regularly come back. Yesterday I ran the Sandringham parkrun.
