What a day to choose to do park run. It was throwing it down, I was dressed in track suit bottoms trainers and a raincoat not ideal I know, but I am new to this.
I set off with 306 others walking first then jogging. I've done quite a few 5ks but for some reason I was finding this hard going, walked, jogged must keep going dont want to be last.
My best time has been 55mins.
Well my results came in 1st in my age group( probably only one there) and 40mins 15 seconds boy am I chuffed no wonder I found it hard going.
Wonder what I can do next weekπ

ππππππ Bravo. Well done you. That is a great time too. Slow down a bit. It looks like you got carried away in the excitement πππ
Congratulations on completing your first parkrun dt, no one is ever last at a parkrun, that's the duty of the tailwalker, 40:15 is a respectable time for your first parkrun, you would be far from last with 306 taking part, I am sure it won't be long before you can get a sub 40 minute 5K. π ππΎ π
Well done! I went far too fast on my first parkrun. I got swept up in the occasion and adopted a pace well beyond my capabilities. I had to walk twice during the last couple of km.
You'll never be last. There is always at least one official tail walker.
Well done for doing your first parkrun today doggytail. I couldnβt believe how many first timers faced the elements in Southsea this morning.
Tap βTake a lookβ on your email for the full results. If you then enter VW70-74 in the search area it will come up with anyone else in your age group.
Congratulations on all those achievements doggytail! I can only imagine how happy you must feel! So do you think you have the PR bug like lots of us do? π
Wow!!! 1st parkrun! Youβve given me hope that one day Iβll also go out there and do a parkrun with real people! π€£π€£ Iβve just been running solo for 2 years (and now on the IC).
Well done, πππ, that was a great time. Just goes to show what we can do if we push ourselves that little bit more. I am slowly coming round to the idea of trying a park run, now that I feel I might not totally disgrace myself, still running the course after everyone else has packed up and gone home ππ
That is a very good time! I am about 30 years younger than you and I usually do 43 minutes or something over 5K. 40K, then I had a lion running behind me π
Wow, well done, fabulous start!! Its amazing what running with lots of other people does to your time. I did my first one back in July when Park runs were allowed to start again and upto then I'd never managed to get under 30 mins. First Parkrun and my time was under well under 30mins, and it was because I got carried away with the banter and friendly 'competition'. You'll get in your own routine and find out what time you're comfortable with.I'm sure you'll love it the more you do!!
