Christmas day park run

It was such a lovely event today. The sun was shining here in the south west and there was a massive turn out and a new course record of 555 runners!

Despite the mud and lots of puddles we all got round and another run was ticked off.

It’ll be my 75th park run on Saturday so I’m very excited to reach that milestone.

A very happy Christmas to you Oldlady64 and congratulations on your 74th parkrun, I wasn't at parkrun today, instead I took my neighbours dog Holly for her Christmas Day walk, it's now the 7th year I have done that.

Talking about record turnouts at Christmas Day parkruns, one of the parkruns I go to on a Saturday had a record turnout of 594 runners, their Saturday average is around 200, they actually ran out of tokens by about 150, they were expecting about 400 , the results won't be out until later today, anyway, you enjoy the rest of Christmas Day 🎄🍰🏃🎶

That 594 was nothing compared with another parkrun in Glasgow, Pollock parkrun which was the first parkrun in Scotland has a average number of about 380 on a Saturday morning, today there was an amazing 934 running at Pollock, perhaps the reason for those two parkruns having so many people running was that the rest of parkruns in both Lanarkshire and Glasgow were not on, hence the record numbers for both.

well done and Happy Christmas. I did a parkrun this morning too at my local parkrun. Normally gets around 100 runners and walkers. This morning there were 177. It was my 50th parkrun of 2024 and my 208th parkrun overall.

We normally get around 550-600 at my parkrun, 817 yesterday, biggest ever. I’ll hit a milestone in the next week or so, my 50th run, also my 50th since Open Heart Surgery.
