Ladies and gents of the Bridge. I need your help! My running gloves are rubbish. My hands just won’t stay warm. This is the third pair I’ve had now and I’ve been unlucky with all three. MrU is willing to intercede for me with Father Christmas so I just need to brief him on what to buy.
Do you have a pair of running gloves you really like? If so, please help and tell me what they are! I’m willing to spend a bit of money to avoid frostbite in my poor fingers! The photo is of what happened to one of my regular run routes last year so I want to be ready!!!
Thank you!

my sealskinz have served me well, warm for me without being thick and bulky and works (most of the time) on a touchscreen phone. They are about £35ish but I got them for £25ish in an offer.
I have a pair of Innov8 gloves and a pair of Montane. Both are black. They are pretty thin, but keep my hands really warm. I have two pairs because they need a wash after run! Both came from my local running shop; the owner is an ultra runner, so I always assume that she knows what she is doing.
Re: washing - may I politely suggest just a quick plunge in a basin of cold water for no more than 5 mins and then wring out and leave to dry naturally? Works much better than you might initially think.
Thanks John. Nothing like reading the laundry instructions. I have just spoken to Mrs BC; despite my dropping them in the laundry basket with the rest of my running kit, she does a cold hand wash for my gloves and dries them flat. I had always assumed that they went into the machine. Good job someone in this house has a brain!🙂
I knitted a pair of fingerless mitts but long ones that cover my fingers, once I warm up a bit I just fold them back, then can tap watch or phone to see how I'm.doing 😁
Time to run... Thermal running gloves... and I have two pairs of the Medic thermal arthritis compression gloves... but your finger tips can get cold of the weather is really dire. I wear those the most.
A lady who I know who dog walks on the bitterest days, recommended them...
It gets you all of a sudden, doesn’t it! I’m never cold on runs and just recently my fingers have been so cold they’ve taken ages to warm up after running and they’ve been really painful. Buying run kit is a favourite hobby of mine! Hope you find something suitable for you!
🍏Morning MissU a trick I learned in Canada when I ran in -12 etc was to double glove… thin silk or bamboo liner gloves available on Amazon or anywhere really then your regular gloves .. never had a problem since..
This is one of the great things about the forum. Loads of experience here! I’m sure you’ll find what you need. A lot of the ones recommended above have the capacity you need (that’s on my list of essential criteria too!).
I’m a bit late to the party MissU but I wondered if this would be of interest: turtle-doves.co.uk (sorry, can’t seem to get the link to work!). They specialise in cashmere fingerless gloves; I have a couple of pairs and use them a lot!
