This morning I achieved my goal of running 10k. But by goodness it was cold out there. My poor fingers were so cold and sore I could hardly move them. My body doesn't really get that cold and I ran with just a long sleeved top and leggings and was fine. but my hands....... I just had on a thin pair of nike running gloves which have been okay up to now but they obviously are no good for temperatures below freezing point. Can any one recommend a decent type of glove I should be looking for which doesnt cost the earth and can still operate my phone with?
Frozen Fingers!: This morning I achieved my... - Bridge to 10K
Frozen Fingers!

Wow, well done! It was very cold this morning. Can't help you out on the gloves, I'm afraid. i have thermal ones but don't think they'd be any good for operating your phone.

Even more well done considering how recently you finished c25k (I've been spying!). Took me 13 months to run a 10k and I've not done a second one yet!

Well done on running 10k Angelakh..πxx
I haven't got proper running gloves yet last year I was using fingerless ones and yes, frozen fingers not very nice...
Firstly congrats on the 10k! Wonderful achievement! As for the frozen fingers, I can sympathise! I did a 14k run last week with fingerless gloves and almost froze my digits off. I've now got a pair of bmx cycling gloves now which are windproof, but thinner than ski gloves. Fingers still get cold but not frozen. May need to switch to mitts soon.

Well done!
I have a pair of Head gloves with touch screen pads on index finger and thumb. They have grippy palms so probably designed for cycling. They are a couple of years old but I expect modern equivalents exist.

Well done on the 10k.
I use Gore windstopper gloves which, I think, will operate your phone (I haven't tried). They aren't the cheapest of gloves, but were recommended to me by my husband who has experimented with various gloves over the years. So far they seem to be working well as I do get cold hands and suffer a bit of Raynauds in my fingers. I have now worn them for a few runs and have got such cosy fingers that I have ended up taking them off!

Well done for achieving your 10k goal ππ you need to ask for your badge! I have a pair of gloves from Go Outdoors which are good and hands soon warm up once I get going, they have a touch pad on one of the fingers and reflective stripes. I do still find it hard to use my phone though, bit fiddly!

Thanks everyone for the advice. π
