Pro running gloves

Thought I’d post a pic of my raggedy old fingerless gloves. As you can see, I’ve trimmed them with such surgical precision that they really look pro, don’t they? These are currently saving my hands just the same. Nothing else gets cold on me except my hands. 😁 So far anyway

Very smart! 😆

Cold hands can be a literal pain in cold weather. I have a stash of really cheap knitted gloves that I can still operate my phone with, that way I don’t mind if I get home and find I’ve dropped one.

Thats a good idea too Maddee. This was just an old ratty pair that fit the bill

Fancy schmancy, Decker 🤣. I agree, cold hands suck though. Careful, you might start a fashion craze - hobo chic 😆😆

Right?! Hobo chic - I like that. Kind of speaks to my overall wardrobe, really :) I dunno why the bloodflow in my arms seems to stop at my wrists and turn back.

I know what you mean. Until my hands warm up, I'm definitely not adopting a nice relaxed running form since I'm running with a clenched fist with my thumb tucked into my palm 😬 and often my sleeves pulled down over my hands like a little kid 😆

haha - that's exactly what I do when I forget the pro gloves! :) And I'm not dealing with the crazy cold Prairie winds like you are!

This morning's run was a chilly -12 with windchill but didn't feel too bad....I'm getting good at altering my route on the fly to minimize running into the wind for too long. I was doing a fartlek speed workout that Runkeeper has on the Asics Pace Academy Challenge so I was too busy adjusting my pace every minute or 2 to think about the temperature anyways 😆

Somehow I missed this one. -12 is definitely on the cold side of town!! Good thing you had all those pace adjustments to keep you occupied 😁

Good job there, Decker :D . I saw a pair of gloves recently that neatly transformed to and from a wristband, so when your hands (finally) warm up you can roll the gloves back off your hands. I had a bit of a Yorkshire moment when I saw the price though so I will continue to use cheap gloves and stuff them into my waistband when I do warm up.

First frost here this morning!

Those sound very clever. Why is the clever stuff always so costly? :) Probably because someone took the time to design and test it rather than just nip the fingers off his gloves with his wife's sewing scissors.

My hands are always the first thing to feel the cold too. Your post reminds me of my slightly frivolous pair I was forced to wear a few years ago

Very natty! They do the job so well done on your initiative. You will have to ask Santa for some new ones 🙂

I rarely use gloves but they are useful when you first set off til you get warmed up.

I wore a run jacket yesters with those hand holes. I like those

Yep those run jackets would work. I’ve got to invest in some additional winter layers too. Maybe I will see if they have any of these...

over here they seem to be more geared towards women's running gear, but I will keep an eye out for them

You look like you’ve been attacked by wolves Decker!

A narrow escape 😟

ah - you're right - I could have created a great story about the cemetery wolf pack that prowls around looking for stray early morning runners to feast on...opportunity missed :)
