Good morning runners! Fear not! I havnt fallen off the running/fitness horse again ๐
I'm still out pretty regularly and working around a bit of a weird work schedule at the moment but am lacing up the runners as often as I can.
My knee has been playing up on occasion (same recurring outside of left knee that's come and gone for years) it's crazy can cut my run short one day due to real horrible pain and then next day not even feel it! Goes for weeks on end then will just pop up for a visit to remind me it's still there I think ๐
I'm doing a combination of running, cycling and walking at the moment and if the scales are to be believed I've almost lost around 12lbs so far which is about 35% of my target.
Alcohol I didn't manage to give up completely but am trying to be a lot more mindful of when and why I'm drinking, it's still something I'm working on.
Best talk about today's run! ๐
I did a steady paced 5k in 27:27, bit of a ropey 1st km but after that was smooth and easy and think I actually got faster as I was going. A really enjoyable run that I found myself with a big smile on my face for a lot of it. Lots of dog walkers and fellow runners around and tried to give them all a cheery "good morning" and a big thumbs up for the ones who looked like they needed a bit of extra encouragement.
Not sure of plans for rest of day but I hope everybody enjoys there Sunday and has a great run if they are getting out for one ๐๐ป

morning Jericho2332 ..nice to see you!! Sorry to hear about the knee but it doesnโt look like itโs held you up this morning, thatโs a very respectable time for 5kโฆ
Glad the knee pain isnโt causing you too much jip and isnโt stopping you from running Jericho. Sounds like you had a great run today - happy Sunday! Have a great rest of your weekend ๐๐ผ
Well done with that weight loss, great news, should make the running easier i guess. It's mad how enjoyable just going out front door, and running, makes us feel ๐ i think we probably started the c25k about the same time, 4 years ago for me, and still say it's the best thing i ever did. I dont post on here much these days, but do remember how helpfull, and friendly everyone was.
One more question mate, what's happened to your boys โฝ๏ธ prob one of best teams we've played, and were lucky to nick a win? ๐
Oh we are a real mixed bag this season mate ๐๐๐ yeah that result was a tough one, we've done it so many times this season though it's worrying, throwing away 2 and 3 goal leads for fun ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ
Yeah the folks on here are great especially when ya need a little nudge to get out the door, I often read a few and I'm inspired enough to get out there even when not feeling like it.
I agree with you too, starting to run was one of the best things I ever did, helps massively with physical and mental health. Just wish I'd never taken a massive break and had to start again! Imagine how far I'd be running now if I'd stuck to it after 1st graduation ๐๐
I do find posting back on here helpful too, always get a lot of help and good advice in response.
I've got no further than 6 or 7 km since coming back, I'm finding 5k fairly straight forward but am tiring quickly after that. Just gonna build slowly back up to 10k, no rush and will hopefully get easier as I get fitter and thinner ๐ค๐ป
Good stuff man. Glad to see youโre still getting on well. Iโm hoping I can join you in the weight loss - I stepped on the scales today and wasnโt happy!! Hopefully the start of shifting some timber.
Got through my W4R1 today and it was ok but I was definitely waiting for Jo to chirp in and tell me I could walk through every single run! Those easy 5Ks seem a long way off.
You will get it back, it's tough but totally worth it.
I jumped on the scales a while back and thought I'd be 13st or so, I was 14st ๐. It's actually my anniversary today (16 years with the Mrs ๐) and I worked out I'd put on 3st in the time since we had met, challenged myself to get back to my og weight of 11st.
Getting back into this running game is deffo helping, huge part of it is diet. Some cycling and walking on non running days. I'm not on a specific diet just trying to eat a whole lot less, cut out the snacks and the late night eating. It's working so far but I think il have to add some strength and flex to my routine if I really want to get down to that target weight.
