I haven’t been paying much attention to what my garmin thinks of me lately. It’s been quite judgemental since I had covid and been building back. This morning. I had a little look at my “training readiness” after getting a little warning about “overreaching”.
Has anyone seen such a beautifully random array of colours? Strained, maintaining, productive, unproductive, overreaching and recovery all in the last month. I think I have confused it.
I’m hoping once I’ve been back at my usual level of activity for a week or two, it will be a bit happier with me. We live in hope of pleasing the dreaded tech anyway!
Can anyone else match six colours in four weeks?!!

Which Garmin have you got? I've got the Forerunner 45 and it doesn't seem to have Training Readiness. My husband has a way more upmarket model which seems to monitor it, all it seems to do is tell him he's not trying hard enough, especially if he's matching my (snail's) pace. On the other hand he doesn't have Body Battery!
Nice colours though, you've become an artist without even realising
I’ve got a 265s bought massively reduced! I love it and hate it in equal measures. I definitely like the idea of the colours of the last month being art. Maybe recovery has painted a prettier picture than I’d first thought!
I’ve never even seen mine MissUnderstanding !!! Not sure what colour mine would be after my lack of exercise lately!!! Yours is a show of beautiful colours just like you 🥰🥰🥰
Aww, thank you and right back at you! I think I had to use mine for a little while before it’s started giving me training readiness readings. I’ve just spotted the option to turn it off, but I quite like having a moan about it!!
Mine has no colours, but strangely enough as I log my losing weight my fitness age goes down, silly Garmin, I'm certainly not a younger fitness age than I was before I got ill
The algorithm is so weird sometimes! Mine sometimes tells me to do super slow runs and when I do, it tells me off. Sometimes there’s no winning. Tech eh!!
Just as well you have the common sense to recognise that Garmin's producing rubbish SueAppleRun ! Sending all the good wishes for your continuing recovery 👍🤗😘
They are lovely.... but I still would have no idea where to find that info... I am still learning to fly my 45 and as Yesletsgo says, I don't think it has that!
I think it might not be available on the earlier models. I have to admit, pretty as it is, it isn’t one of the types of information it gives me that I pay much attention to!
I’ve got a second hand Forerunner 45 but after several years use running marathons etc it’s on its way out 😞 I like the lack of extras and was looking for something similar but so far not found anything that doesn’t want to bamboozle me with bells and whistles 😏.
Well, it might just reflect what Covid does to our bodies... 😉 Glad that you're on the mend and wishing you continued recovery (with or without rainbows 🌈).
I'm all in favour of rainbow colours, but if my Garmin started telling me I was unproductive I'd want to take a sledgehammer to it.
I hate the way its algorithms operate and absolutely detest that reductive labelling of the outcomes. So glad my watch doesn't, afaik, have that capacity!
The worst is when it starts yelling “too slow” when I’m going up a hill. It’s nearly gone flying in a bush a few tims!! I take it all with a massive pinch of salt…unless I like what it says!!
I have to admit I ignore all my Garmin stats tooCmoi . All I take notice of is distance and time! If I want a laugh I’ll dig a bit deeper (not that my aging Vivoactive 3 tells me much), then when I’ve laughed I ignore it anyway! 😂
