What a great running month she was . I have been going to yoga long enough now that I can blow my own trumpet hehe so here goes.
My first run of June was 11km up and down the cliffs of the south west coast path at padstow, past tin mines and blow holes. Then lots of further running past ricky steins gaff and onto the camel trail.
I managed to run a 10k race at Hatfield Forest, my third Hoohah.
I accidentally ran a HM while bimbleing around the fenland waterways.
That gave me the mad idea to run a Marathon which has ended up with me overreaching perhaps and running a total of 149km this month over 24runs. That seems like a crazy amount(though the streaking did end) but the training plan will see well over 200km next month I suspect. I just hope i'm back here posting that I did that as it does seems a bit mad, especially with this heat at the moment.
I hope everyone else has had a fantastic running month, so many of you have helped me along this month with encouragement and smiles, this forum really does salve the running aches and spur you onwards

Good god that is an impressive month of running, pink! And you have run in some beautiful places, too (I am very jealous). Which marathon are you aiming for?
Thanks Sadie, yes the weather has helped the pictures this month No specific marathon selected as yet, like the HM I kinda feel I need to be able to do it before I can commit as it's such an endeavour, I think by about week 6 when the long runs are getting toward 32k then I will make a judgement call. I have two choices I fancy, a very casual small affair of the Norfolk Coastal Trail Marathon(sounds glorious and I like it a bit rough hehe) or the Loch Ness Marathon(bigger event but also a glorious location and i'm from morayshire so not far from inverness-shire).
That sounds very sensible! I come from Norfolk (I am in Norwich right now visiting folks) so that one would get my vote. Plus the coast line is beautiful. But yes, the Loch Ness one would be stunning too. I am yet to do a race, but maybe one day...
This heatwave is making running a bit tricky, but heck, I am just getting up earlier. Worth it for these beautiful blue skies and the feeling of being on holiday! Loving it.
Sounds like you need to sign up to a nice friendly local 10k, there are so many of them around. It has really helped my running and once past the nerves they are quite an approachable race distance. The Norfolk run is from just past Sunny Hunny to Morston near blakeney and you go through wells so can grab an Ice cream and crabs on route hehe
Crikey - ive only managed just under 60k this month. Youve done more than double that. The heat has kept my runs shorter till my 11k mistake yesterday. So jolly well done, amazing! Fab photos too and interesting post.
Yes I have upped it quite a bit with the streaking and then the marathon plan which sees me doing 5 runs a week. Think I did around 80 last month so it is a big uplift. Being very cautious about the legs which are fine but the knees are a little achey. The heat is a killer and I only have coped by getting up at 5am for a few runs but I don't think I can keep on doing that long term. Just end up too tired later on.
Well done Flick on your 11k!ππ tell me how you did it please!ππ

I did a bigger one a couple of weeks ago (11.18).i just keep plodding on. I cant run fast, but apparently I can run for nearly two hours without stopping. Well, I did stop running on this one to climb over stiles and gates and negotiate potholes, but the previous long runs I havenβt stopped. I was exhausted by the end of this one, but actually found it less tiring to carry on running than to walk - ive no idea why x

Yes I know what you mean. I also find that too. So tomorrow Iβm out again and hope or rather determined to get out hopefully by 6ish am. Before it gets to hot! Byway I shall get out and see just how far I can go.
I must say Flick Iβm in awe of your running ! You are indeed an inspiration ! I hope you donβt mind me sayingππ
Yikes, youβre a madman π! That is a great month for sure. It made me go look at my stats, I only did 88.8k over 11 runs but that is up from 61.4k over 10 runs the month before. So Iβm happy with that. Youβve reached some great milestones this month. Have fun reaching for that Marathon. Iβm sure you'll make it at some point.
Oh Pink how fit you are! I wish I was as fit as that. Well done to you!πππ
Hope you marathon goes well for you when you decide which one you're going in for.ππ
To be honest I find the idea a bit terrifying so not entirely sure I will get there. It needs to be fun also and I don't self identify with people who run marathons quite yet hehe
Well Iβm sure youβll get there eventually! I imagine that eventually I will be able to do a half marathon. But thatβs exactly what it is at the moment an image ha!π€ͺ
You can probably do one now. I found the trick was to bimble it. Doing it across a trail route meant long grass and stiles and finding my way and less worry about keeping running. The stops recharge you and the adventure distracts you. Add enough water and a bit of nosh on route and it's a cake walk π
You will do it. You have the right attitude. You are motivated but not up yourself and you have the right balance between self appraisal and prosaicness (is that even a word?)
