Arrived at the shoutout to HU Runners on C25k app

As some of you know, I’m rather on a slow but steady journey back from reoccurring calf strains earlier this year. Making great progress.

But it involved a few breaks from running, whilst rowing continued.

So several weeks ago I thought I might as well revisit the C25k app to help my jeffing along, as part of a plan.

So just finished week 3, and heard Reece Parkinson give a shout out to our HU running community! That was a nice surprise, as I don’t remember that from the first time i used the app to get me to 5k/30min.

They still don’t emphasise dynamic stretches pre-run enough for my taste, but other than that, it’s been a wonderful journey so far!

It’s also nice to see that 4 years of running and walking and Strength&Flexing has made a difference, as C25k seems fairly doable now, quite easy really, and is just a joy to go through without any doubts or exhaustion.

Just right for my rather long (but steady) recovery journey!

Run this morning was in glorious, still cool, weather, but it will get hot today!

Happy running, peeps!

Fantastic! I didn’t ever notice we got a shout out so that’s a nice thing to hear!

It sounds like your jeffing journey is going really well. So pleased for you. Keep the updates coming…long journeys lead to extra satisfying ends when you meet your goals! ❤️

Yeah, I’ve not yet given up my goal to get back (again) to 10k, but it will take me the rest of the year, I think.

Slow and steady! 🤣😄👍🏽

I started it again a few months after graduation as I'd had 6 weeks of barely walking with muscle injuries. Obviously I'd not lost the fitness in that time, but it was definitely easier second time around!

Your making great progress - long may it continue!

Great to see you out there repeating C25K again. I’m still returning slowly from my issues earlier in the year. I’m finding it’s 1 step forward and 2 steps back occasionally but I’ve just run W6R2. I did miss out the last run of W5 though. I think it’s great to use the program to slowly return to running after injury as for me it gave me confidence to keep at it slowly. Take care and enjoy your return to running

Happy running everyone

Yes. Same here. It really helps with taking it slowly and building confidence again, specifically as revisiting it means that you remember how much harder it was the first time. So one experiences already the progress made, I find.
