Nobody will ever know…. 🤣 (shoe patching)

Quick run through gloomy clouds this morning, with post-run stretches on return outside the house.

I was running with my old, cheap no-name Aldi shoes, that have been a good fallback options when my running shoes were out of action.

Out of action, my beloved 0-drop Altras were drying, as I fixed the hole that started to appear in the toe area of my right shoe. The left has already been patched some months ago, so my Altras now feature two colour coordinated patches in the toe box area. Nobody will ever know, right!? 🤣🤣

I’m hoping this will provide more longevity to these shoes, although Runkeeper tells me that they are at their end if their lifespan. But my logic is that, as 0-drop shoes do not have much padding or bounce, there is not much that can get old, so as long as holes are patched, and the fabric stays flexible, it should be ok.

The fixing kit that I used is from a small family business that sends out these little kits, also for running clubs, recommended by someone here, so thank you! (pairups.co.uk)

Happy running, everyone!

It's a slippery slope CBDB My mother once found my father attempting a full 'cut and shut' on a pair of his....

(He never threw any out... at the end of his life we had to take 35 pairs to the tip plus those which were donated to a refugee charity)

it is indeed. And I also get attached to shoes and have a hard time chucking them out!

Well, my son wouldn't know, he sees red as grey!

When he was about 9, we were all out walking and there was a bright red kite caught up in a tree. He had no idea what we were looking at.

Wow! Was that when you realised his colourblindness?

He'd failed a generic test at school, but that was when we realised how bad it was. He kept saying that he can see red just not the same. In fact I think he still believes it...

What a great idea, my shoes often go in the big toe area when the rest of the shoe is fine! Hunk they look like deliberate stylish patches 👌🏻
