Dodging raindrops

Woke up. It was raining. Came downstairs. The sun was shining. Decided to go for a run, guess what, it started to drizzle. By now though I was in my running gear and committed to the idea so off I went.

I've bought some new leggings, M&S Outlet's finest, as I'm going away on Tuesday and have been warned that the places I'll be running are full of disease bearing ticks. Don't want to expose my limbs to that so won't be wearing shorts for the duration. The leggings have a pocket I didn't initially notice which is an added bonus.

As Coach B says, every run has a purpose so I spent a couple of minutes deciding what today's purpose was. To see if my leggings work? Hmm, thankfully no ticks that I know of round here. The leggings are sort of fluorescent camo to hide my lumps and bumps which means they will probably hide ticks as well but hey ho, better than the other ones I tried (shiny plain pink in the Nike outlet, a second skin and not in a good way, not a pretty sight, definitely only for the sylph like, sorry Coach B).

I looked at the sky for inspiration...to get home before it started pouring again. I decided to run a bit quicker than recently and see how it felt.

Mr Y was ahead of me as usual and kept warning me about poo on the path. Looked like someone had taken their horse out for a morning constitutional. Seeing the signs on the field I'm glad they'd finished before we went out :)

NRC is definitely dodgy at the moment because it told me I'd completed my 3k about 200m short of the place my run usually finishes. I ran a little bit further to be sure I'd really covered the distance. Gratified to see I was a little bit quicker than normal, as planned but my average HR was around the same. Seems like something is working :)

That sounds like a super run-it’s amazing what avoiding the rain can do to your pace!

The same heart rate for a quicker pace is such a good feeling….that’s new fitness on display right there! NRC clearly couldn’t keep up with you and went wonky!

I really like M and S kit. I was in some Goodmove shorts today, although when I hit some stingies I wished I was in leggings! Trying out new kit is such a fun purpose for a run!

This is my first M&S kit, they are Goodmove too, very impressed.

I was in the Nike Outlet store beforehand and thought I'd buy their leggings as a thank you for the NRC app but honestly...you could see every imperfection starting with the cellulite and getting worse!! Very comfortable though. Guess I haven't completely done away with not caring what other people think I look like!!!

Something is definitely working, and you missed the worst of the rain so a great run for you 😀
