Last night I had an early night, promising myself I'd get up early to run when it was cool.
This morning I woke at 5.30, remembered my resolution...and went back to sleep until 7.30. Got out of the house around 8.10 am, which is early for me, and had a lovely, slow run through the fields, listening to the birdsong and admiring the fields of crops. It was already 20C but didn't feel too hot thanks to a bit of a breeze. I stopped three times for a swig of water and to get my heartrate down a bit.
According to NRC I've now run for 4 weeks in a row so it feels like the consistency is coming back after all my travels. The runs may be short and slow but at least I'm making the effort. It would be silly for me to try and do more right now, 3K is about as much as I can manage in the heat. I don't have anything to prove to anyone other than myself, the longer runs can wait until it's cooler. Only 6 months until Christmas Day π

Nice 3K in warm weather for you today Yesletsgo, glad you enjoyed your run, thanks for reminding us all that's it only 6 months to Christmas, it won't be long before those Christmas adds start on the TV.
Well done on beating the worst of the heat. I have to say I excelled myself this morning, by getting up at 5.00am to run! I was out the door by about 5.40am for a 5k. It felt so cool and I had the roads all to myself!π ππββοΈ
That was the fantasy in my head at 5.30 but unlike you I didn't follow through. I did think about it though πCongratulations on actually getting up and out there, it must be so lovely but some of us just aren't larks - more like fried chickens this weather π
Consistency is king!!! My new challenge is how far I can scroll back through my garmin run record and still see three runs a week. It varies depending on which days Iβve run, but itβs surprisingly motivating! Small things keep us going, right?!
The main good thing about it being Christmas in six months is thinking about what run kit Father Christmas will bring me!!!!
I'm really enjoying getting those 'badges' from NRC - 4 weeks of running, running 3x a week, running a km and a mile on Sunday and I've just noticed that today is my Nike Anniversary (and I didn't even run today )
