I try and get them in regularly, but I'm surrounded by them so hills I do a lot and definitely helps and thank you

Thank you I was definitely sweating after I add the 1k before and after to the hill run and the 1 after was a quicker time

That’s one of my favourite speed runs. Nice one!

I'm mainly practicing for my parkrun when doing the hill runs and I'm hoping it benefits me in the long run. My problem I find with parkrun is setting off to quick I think I'm a teenager at times lol 😆.

I run with my son in law sometimes and his pb is 22 minutes I'm over 8 minutes slower but I suppose that's to be expected with a nearly 30 year age gap . Sorry I do waffle on at times

We love a good waffle here! You’re not alone with setting off too fast. It’ll come with practice. I found doing regular hill:/interval/tempo/farlek took my PBs down. What made the biggest different was strength work though. That was a nice side effect of getting injured and needing to hit the gym to keep running.

Not a massive gym fan myself but definitely something I will need to look at,do you think one gym session a week will be beneficial?

Absolutely! I’m using “gym work” to mean strength work… it doesn’t have to be in a gym.

There’s a great podcast here…
