Hubby and I planned an Easter morning run-walk (he walks, I run) to celebrate Easter and we did a 3k in a Country Park, just 15 min drive from us. We’ve never been there, but had heard a lot about it.
It’s a bit of a gem, reclaimed from open cast mining, now natural habitats for flora and fauna, with plenty of trails, paths, routes for all sorts of walkers, runners, horse riders and plenty others. Info at en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ape...
We only did a quick 3k, which considering the ups and downs of the route was enough, but we also aspire to coming back next month and do a fully mapped out 6k.
so we were scouting out the trails.
The trails were great, with plenty of choice on how muddy you want to get, or how much firm footings you need. There are quite a few hills, but the views are splendid. And it has a cafe at the start/end so it ticks all the boxes. Ramblers were out in full force as well, as were plenty of families wearing bunny ears! It made for a very enjoyable run!
On pic, I mapped the route in both directions, just to goggle at the gradients! 🤣🤣 I am certainly not used to these kinds of hills but they were doable!
Now to our Sunday feast!
Happy Running on a wonderful Easter break, everyone!
