Long time off

After over 5 weeks off, I completed a 2 mile run walk yesterday. So glad to be back.I had a calf injury and a virus later.

I must remind myself not to run when injured, thinking I can run it off. Not by doing 8 or 10 weekend runs.

Looking forward to completing my first Park Run in 6 weeks on Saturday - but listening to my body.😀

Sensible advice there, to yourself and to others reading this! Our body really is our best guide.

If you have been off for five weeks, and not had a regular routine, in the way of strength and stamina exercise, other than your walk... maybe take it very steadily on Saturday?

Treat it as a gentle come back run, slow and steady.

Those running legs need building back up after such a long time, inactive😊

:Looking forward to your post.

Welcome back! Injury induced breaks are never much fun. Hopefully you’ll be back in the swing if it before you know it. Good luck tomorrow!

Thanks all. Just one thing. I fell ill on Thursday night and am still recovering. At least my calf gets a bit longer to heal.
