I was beginning to get quite moody and lethargic but after a week which included my birthday, I’m feeling much more positive again. It’s easy to forget but amazing how much exercise can lift your spirits.
I’m proud to say I’ve got Week 1 of my new 10k plan safely tucked under my belt. I’m especially pleased since the weather has not exactly been playing ball - frequent heavy downpours and strong chill winds to contend with.
Week 1 consisted of a Pyramid run, an Easy run and a Long run. I enjoyed the variety and liked the format especially pyramid which was a first for me and suggested target paces for each k on the others. It seems I’m not great at estimating pace - quite funny how far I was out but something for me to work on in the coming weeks that’s for sure.
If it wasn’t that a rest day is recommended, I’d go again tomorrow.
Maybe I should go for a swim in the morning before work instead 🤔
Wishing you all a good week - hope to check in with you again at the end of my week 2

Happy birthday! Mojos are such funny things. I’ve found mine starting a new plan too. Maybe there’s something about trying something new and going outside your comfort zone that inspires all of us! Long may that continue!!
Your pyramid run sounds really fun. Anything new takes a bit of getting used to and I’m sure you’ll get closer to the goal as you practice. My garmin is pretty grumpy with me when I don’t hit the paces it prescribes but I usually just threaten to throw it in a bush and ignore it. Hope your Runna couch is more understanding!!
Bit sluggish today after birthday dinner (and wine) yesterday but nevertheless went for my long run. The change of routine has definitely helped me get out of my grump brain. Runna coach doesn’t moan just repeats “slow down, you are above your target” I have found my heart rate is not constantly in zone 5 which has to be a good thing and surely must have something to do with reminders of pace so I will try to take heed.
The mojo hides under the running shoes, next to the gremlins! Pick 'em up and get out there and all feels a heck of a lot better!
Your run sounds fun... I am repeating Up to 10K again with Ju Ju's plan... with tweaks. Swimming sounds fun... I am wondering a bit having a few one to one lessons to build my style up a tad after a while out of water!
Happy belated birthday 🎉🎉. So happy you’ve got your mojo back and reading your post it seems to me your doing ok.
For me I think my mojo has returned while revisiting C25K which I’m enjoying more now than I did when I first did it. Perhaps it’s because I have an better idea of what is expected of me or maybe I’m just a bit stronger at running…I don’t know.
I think some times we all lose our mojo once in a while but it will always return to us.👍
