Rain and more rain

I was going to run along the river this morning, glad I didn't! Not my photo I nicked it off the local news site as that's the track I run along often, after heavy rain, high winds and high tides the track is under water and the river itself is flowing fast.

It's the season for storms, stay safe if you are out in it.

A bit like that here. A lot of flooding. Greenery looks so brown now. Yes stay safe.

Just this time of year, dark, dingy and wet, you stay safe too

Well that's a pretty lame excuse for not running! (If you use a canoe, is it still called running?) 😱

Apparently some paddleboarders were out there, I'm going to walk with my granddaughter, I'll see what it's like tomorrow, I'm being a bit lazy this week

There has been so much rain over the last week, and monsoon like when it comes. With spring tides as well, the south coast has been particularly bad.

This is a picture of our Canoe Lake - you can sit on a bench and paddle at the same time.

No point in running on that part of your route Sue, could be dangerous, try to find a route which hasn't been flooded, later this week there is another named storm coming which will give more rain with storm force 10 winds especially along southern and south western coasts of the UK, it's been named by the Met Office as storm Ciaran

SueAppleRun profile image

Yes Al, I've seen that, I'll stick to local paths for now, we aren't looking forward to the next storm

🍏☔️☔️☔️So much rain & it’s aftermath to contend with in the UK & more to come. Better to take the safe option every time, even if it means no run! Hope you get some break from it soon and a better path.

🤣Maybe by the time we get home, we will need an ark!

There has never been a better time to be away from the UK 😃 24c and sunny in Byron Bay, (going up to 31c) and it’s only 8.19am.

Stay safe!

I got back from Greece a week ago and the weather has been going down the pan since then. Enjoy sunny Oz!

Oh, to be complaining that it was too hot to run 😂😎🌞

Oh dear. Can’t blame you for avoiding that, I would have done the same!

I'm just getting lazy Jools, plenty of other places to run

🤣 I'm going now, maybe my lazy is going away, I seem to take 2 days recovery after parkrun but lately my Garmin body battery is permanent low. I was talking to granddaughter on our walk yesterday and we've decided that we've got out of the habit after my 2 weeks off! It doesn't take much, so run today, gym and swim tomorrow 😁 xx

You’re right, it’s really easy to get out of the habit!

The rain the last two days has stopped me venturing out and completing week 9! I had the best intentions of getting up today and going for run 2, but when the rain is hammering the windows, it's a distinctly unappealing proposition 🤨

Definitely staying on higher ground for the foreseeable runs. Enjoying these few days of lighter mornings before it gets dark again.

It's lovely out today, but another storm coming

BahamaMama1 profile image
BahamaMama1 in reply to SueAppleRun

Definitely keeping an eye on the forecast, the ground is so saturated and the rivers are running very high.
