Hi!

I’m 65 years old, reasonably fit, and trying to stay that way for as long as I can.

I always associated running with exhaustion and I repeatedly gave up on programs with to tough progressions. I´d do anything, like padle, squash, you name it, anything except run. Still, I was aware that it’s the most convenient sport, like you don’t need a lot of equipment, and you can fins a way to do it almost anywhere.

It turned out that The Couch25K approach was exactly right for me, the podcasts with Laura helped me to graduate in nine weeks, a couple of weekend ago.

Currently doing consolidation, where the only rule is to run/jog for about 30 minutes every two or three days, plus some low to medium intensity hiking on off days. I’m concentrating on good form and efficiency over speed. No point in doing this if I can’t enjoy myself.

Excellent! There may well be a new post going up soon so keep an eye out but you can join at any time.

I forgot to say congratulations on graduation! That’s brilliant. With consolidation, you can also do some shorter runs to mix things up a bit too-I love a twenty minute run. Just see what your legs feel like! As you say, the main thing is to enjoy yourself. ❤️

Welcome 5KCouch. Congratulations on your recent graduation 👍👏👏.

It’s great to have you on board! Looking forward to reading about all the great running adventures that I’m sure you are going to have. Most of all though just enjoy the whole experience because that’s what it’s all about really enjoying everything about it.

You probably will have off days when your running doesn’t go quite to plan …but hey ! we’ve all been there and the good runs always outweighs the bad ones …it’s true!

So fellow runner welcome and enjoy!👍🤗🤗😂😂

Speaking of off days, I just had three days off. One planned day of rest, and two days with toothache when I just hiked, tooth throbbing along with my heartbeat 💓 Root canal definitely coming up.

Got to run again this evening. Loved every minute of it.

You sound like my clone! Congratulations and we'll done. After consolidation I went on to Juju's Magic Plan and guess what? I eased up to 60 minutes running no problem at all, maybe it's something you could try when you're ready. Happy running 🏃‍♂️ ☺️

Hello, clone 👋😀 The magical juju plan is on my ToDo list, I just have to do more work on my form first, before I add on more time/distance.

Your last sentence is my philosophy right there 5KCouch . It simply has to be fun and enjoyable, or I won’t do it. 😀
