Sunday was warm. For those of us lucky enough to have spent 2 months in the south of France this summer it was not too bad, but for many others it was a bit of a shock to the system after weeks of rain and cloudy skies.
Running 10k along a route with which I was familiar should have been relatively straight forward. And like Ben Johnson’s swan of Avon I should have been able to glide along with ease. However just 7 days before I had cycled 100 miles and during the week ridden another 50 miles so the legs were a bit tired. I was, however happy to come in quicker than last year (by only half a minute).
Enjoying beer and a hot dog in the pub with TailChaser and Katnap was a great way to refuel and rehydrate. Did need a sleep a bit later on though.

Thanks Runnerno, I’m not much of a drinker but TailChaser has introduced me to Guinness as a post exercise recovery drink and I quite like it (only a half though). I did chase it with a fruity cider though, so an afternoon nap was in order.
Race , faster time than last year and pub lunch-an excellent way to spend a Sunday. Was that some kind of giant icecream I spotted in your photos? Just perfect after a runnin the heat.
Thanks Katnap, it was fun. I was hoping for a better performance but sometimes you just have to roll with what the day brings, and there is always next year.
