Speed runs, intervals, tempo runs hmm, I never really know what I'm supposed to be doing, if I go off too fast I can't keep going. Anyway I found a 15 minute Find Your Pace run on NRC and after yesterday's slower than slow 5k decided to try it out today. Happyhays has run 1 of week 6 today and it's her story to tell, but just know that she was in front most the way and carried on after I'd stopped and was walking, once she turned we walked back together, feeling relaxed and happy. This run starts with a 5 minute warm up run, which I took really easy, shoes feel ok, legs feel strong, then there's the pause to stretch that I am too lazy to do...... And....10k pace.....I glanced at my watch and if I could keep this up for 10k I'd complete in 80 mins, an impossibility but it felt comfortable while I was doing it, and.....5k pace, I put a bit more effort in, run a bit faster and enjoy this, once again though, I'd never keep it up for 5k......moving in to Mile pace......that's fast and my smile is wide.....uh oh, now Celebration pace, which I'm told is 10 out of 10, so flat out I go! ๐ฎ.
I was expecting a 5 minute cool down but that was it! Over.
I could see Happyhays in the distance and still running so I stop the watch, set up a walk and walk to meet her, but then she was coming back still running so I turn and start to walk back. Eventually she drops to a walk and we walk together telling each other how much we enjoyed that.
Run happy or rest well.
