I think the phone app is design to work with all Garmin watches so it will have features your watch won’t support

I got the pool swim app from the garmin connect store. You access it from apps in the activity section once you’ve downloaded it.

I’m not sure I really like it! I like to see how many lengths I do without counting myself! (I lose count so easily, my old Fitbit flex 2 was good for that!)

Anyway it’s still possible but you need to do a big calculation yourself afterwards! I used mine yesterday and spent ages faffing around pressing buttons at random as i wasn’t sure what I was doing!!!! 😂

I don't think the wrist heart rate monitor type systems like too much water/sweat so it may not work well during swimming. The chest strap hrms do work in the pool though.

NO!!! I looked it up and you have to choose, 'other' activity. So I jumped in and fiddled a bit, got it going but I think it doesn't actually record anything. I just add my time and distance on Strava as that's easier. I am an obsessive counter so counting lanes is fun :)

Yup I used the other function but it basically only recorded the time. I hear you can download a swim app from the phone app though.

I count to. It kinda distracts me from. Thinking about other stuff!!

I count lanes too.... Gives me a bit focus!! 👍

The 235 doesn’t do swimming. My genie does, but doesn’t record heart rate as most wrist monitors aren’t accurate in water. My Polar was but it was a hulking great ugly heat Simon eBay it went!
