Well, I've been having a lot of fun for the last month but sadly haven't had an opportunity to run. Got home the day before yesterday and this morning knew I had to get out into the fields.I seem to have left my running belt in Corsica and couldn't find my merino socks. Happily though I'd brought my good trainers home so that brightened my day.
Set off really slowly, average pace was about 9min/km. It felt like an effort, especially at first, but I knew I was out of condition so why risk injury by pushing too hard?
I sped up a little towards the end of the run but then that usually happens, doesn't it?
As Coach Bennett has probably said, crossing the starting line is the most difficult bit. I'm home for at least 4 weeks now so hope to get back to my previous fitness level. That nice Mr Garmin told me I was 2 years younger at the end of the run than at the beginning so looks like I've made a decent start 😁
PS my socks turned up when I sat down at my computer, considering whether to buy a new pair. They were on my chair but it's black and so are they. Maybe I'll get an eye test instead 😂
