well I suppose it was bound to happen at some point 🤦♀️ I ran in the rain this morning and tripped on some sloppy gravel while having the dog attached to my running belt! I could save myself as he was pulling - typical Labrador 🐕 so I fell on my side but he then pulled me several feet resulting in my favourite SB t shirt having holes snd dirt on the back, a cut knee, elbow and hand but being a runner (a mad one!) I carried on (this was at 1K) and decided not to do my normal route and do a longer one!! If I'd known what the back of my t shirt looked like though I might have changed my mind 🤣🤣

Oh no! Now I definitely won’t be taking my lab girl with me running ! She would be the same. I hope you’re not too sore 🙁🙁. Rest up and take it easy. Oh ….and congratulations on carrying on 👏👏👏🥳🥰
🍏Oh dear!!! Glad it didn’t result in a serious injury & that you were able to carry on ( sounds a bit like a carry on film 🤣) Excellent distance and time too. Well done & hope you all scrubbed up now! 🤣💕
Oh no. I hope you are OK and hope your grazes heal up soon. I've almost tripped up over my Cocker Spaniel a few times. Happens to us all at some point.
I'd never have been able to run with our yellow Labrador on the lead. For example, he could smell bread put out for the birds from a few hundred yards away and would make a beeline for it.
The only way I would have been able to run with him would be to have him off the lead in a safe place.
When he was about six months old (1998) he almost bashed my head in on rocks when I was negotiating a kissing gate whilst walking him on the lead. Caught me off balance and I fell.
There's a chocolate Lab occasionally at my local parkrun. The owner has tried running with him, but has found herself accompanying him in examining trees for smells, etc.
This evening I was doing a short run. There was a man ahead on the path with a baby in a pushchair and a large dog on a long tape-like lead. The man was distracted with the baby and the dog moved across my path, nearly tripping me up with the lead. I stopped dead and waited until the dog (not interested in me) moved away and I could get past without fouling the lead.
Ouch, being dragged doesn’t sound like fun. Hope you’re not too sore. 😖
I don’t run with my Lab on the lead any more as she’s 11 and she’d rather do her own thing off lead when I’m running on our local common. However she was a regular at PR for about 3 years and was a great running buddy. The major factor is that she’s not big (20-21kg) and not foodie (I know, unheard of for a Lab), and was very content trotting along next to me on a waist lead - which are no longer allowed at PR of course.
Hope it hasn’t put you off running with your dog. 🤞
Oh no! Poor you, and extra sorry about your T-shirt. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
Ouch! Hope you’re ok 🏃♀️
Ouch ouch! Hope you’re ok. Dogs 🐕! Mine pulls in all directions. Sounds like an adventure 😩
