I’m currently visiting Kenya for a few weeks and staying on the coast. I’ve been trying to keep up with my running and (naively) thought that after doing my first 10k a few weeks ago and generally doing longer than 5k runs back in London I’d be ok aiming for 5k here.
Not so much! I am BEAT doing 5k - the first run I did I had to walk which I never ever do (not in a judgy way but just because I can never start again! 😂). I did my third run today without waking but there was no way I could have done any more than 5k.
It is hot…. 27 degrees, and I’m running at 7am to try to avoid the heat but I think the humidity is a bit of a reducer too.. which I’d not really considered… have others found this? Do you just dial down expectations?
Love to hear any tips if you have them! 😊

Did you check out the Stay Cool post... although that is heat... not specifically humidity... But it has over the last few days been very humid here too,,, and it has zapped so many of us!
