Yesterday I was doing on intervals run on my NRC plan, the coach said "I'll be back at the halfway mark" or whatever, but he never appeared, leaving me slogging away alone!! This often happens...and there is no "slider" so you can start again where you left off, it's start again from the beginning or nothing...
This seems to happen so often to me, is it my crappy phone? Or are the podcasts just a bit flaky? Anyone else have this?
I had that happen on a couple of runs, but assumed that like any free app there will be glitches, is it specific runs? Or several different ones? I wonder if uninstalling and reinstalling or updating might help? Same with the phone maybe

Yes, it’s happened to me is when I receive a phone call or WhatsApp message during the run. And it takes me ages to realise that Coach Bennett has run off and left me. 😂
Mine just fails all on its own...no phone call or anything...It's horrid when you're slogging away, especially on intervals!
Are you downloading the guided run before you leave the house?
Yes...I download the whole week. I'm doing the HM plan.
This happened to me too - as I was stuck during a fast interval! Luckily I noticed pretty quickly (it had happened before) so I just sort of invented the rest of the run.
My phone is a Samsung S20 and my theory is that the problem is to do with battery settings. I turned off a setting which allows it to go into deep sleep: now the NRC app is in "Never sleeping apps". That was several runs ago and I haven't had problems with it since - fingers crossed!

yes, I try to make sure I know what the run has in it, so I can continue, but it's not the same without the coaching is it?
No it isn't - I'm much better being told when to speed up rather than having to decide on my own!
I've been trying to have as few apps open as possible to avoid the NRC one crashing. For today's run I listened to spotify while running and it still didn't crash! 🥳

I wouldn't have thought so! I always have internet/mobile data on when using running apps because I think I read it helped GPS, but I may well have misunderstood. Since the NRC guided run is downloaded you shouldn't need it for that. Have you used NRC other times without it crashing?
Yes, sometimes it runs properly other times it crashes, doesn't seem to be any reason for it. I'm PAYG, and a tight wad, so don't usually have data on but I'll try it today. That's another thing - GPS is way off. If I'm doing, say, a 10K run the podcast will finish at a tad over 8K...
No, having data on didn't make any difference sadly...
It crashed again? That's annoying! I really have no idea. I'd suggest leaving a comment on Google Play (if you're on android) but they don't seem to ever respond. I don't know how else to get in touch with them.
The GPS on mine is also weird. I've also used Sportractive which I like but has no coaching. When I've had them both on and compared the distances, they are completely different - sometimes one is more, sometimes the other. I don't get it.
I've got a phone number, I'll try it tomorrow. It might be wrong, but hopefully they'll point me in the right direction.
I believe my Garmin for distance, I've used it for proper races, and parkrun etc. NRC is crap for distance.
And yes, it crashed again...8 mins in to the 15 min run.

Garmin looks interesting but much more professional than I feel as a runner...
I love my Garmin, I've had 3 or 4, the one I've got now is the best of all.
Yes it happened to me - personally I think these glitches are part of a plot that happens when your phone is over a year old so you buy new 🤣 I solved it by uninstalling the app, turning phone off and back on, then reinstalling. Quite comical the way he left you tho....
And I got in touch with nike run on twitter - they got back quick and told me to do the above which I'd already done by time they messaged!
Did you lose all your progress when you uninstalled?
I don't think so because you log back in to your account... I'll check...

Ok, I uninstalled and reinstalled... my saved runs have gone, no matter as I never look at them and clear them off periodically, my downloaded podcasts have all gone too, so I've had to redownload the ones for this week, no problem really, you can find them all again easily. Most importantly my plan progress has saved. Let's see if it helps!

No, he disappeared again yesterday in mid sentence...I'm going to try using an old phone again, the podcasts worked better on that one, but it needed updating for other reasons...this will mean carrying two phones in case I get or need to make a call, can't be bothered switching the sim card every time I run. I'll let you know how it goes.
